Winter Solstice

Winter solstice…

When Mother Nature brings the shortest of days and the longest of nights. A day to reflect inward. Night = rest. Animals spend winter hibernating and doing minimal. The hustle and bustle of all the holidays, parties, commitments and work this time of year is anything but restful.  For some this time of year brings joy and for some it brings pain…

Maybe this year, is the year you choose to finally exhale, find that space of self reflection, of gratitude and set new intentions for the year ahead. Tomorrow the sun will begin its journey to bring us warmth and each day will get longer.
Rest, simply be. Live with intention as if every day were truly a gift.
Reflect inward on your own journey. Simply change what you do not like. You are in control of you. Realize YOU deserve happiness, joy and peace. Allow yourself to have that.

Remember that the light is coming, it doesn’t get darker or longer than today.
Be the light. But first be the light inside your own soul. Contemplate, renew, celebrate and reflect.

“...This is the solstice, the still point
of the sun, its cusp and midnight,
the year’s threshold
and unlocking, where the past
lets go of and becomes the future;
the place of caught breath, the door
of a vanished house left ajar...”
